Find out how and why researchers use randomisation to test new treatments. All new treatments need to be tested in clinical trials to find out whether they work, what side effects they have and whether they are as good or better than the standard treatment available. After a long development process researcher use randomise trials to be sure that the results are correct and not biased for any reason.
